The “Queen City of the Platte” was founded as a railroading town in 1869. It was the first city in the county, and sits at a 4,658 feet above sea level. With a very low crime index (21 percent lower than the Colorado average), and relatively low cost of living, Evans is a growing city that attracts families and singles alike. In the 12 years between 2000 and 2012, the population increased 96.6 percent, with good reason. The average summer temperature is a nearly perfect 68 F, while the winters average about 28 F.

Evans is outside the bigger city of Greeley, which means plenty of quiet evenings and relaxing days. For example, the fabulous Greeley Farmers Market takes place on Saturday mornings. But if you crave a little more excitement, plenty of entertainment and dining options exist.
